Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Monitor Tech, you will be responsible for continuous observation and analysis of patients' cardiac rhythms to detect and report changes.Every day you will meticulously monitor EKG strips, identify arrhythmias, measure intervals, and promptly communicate critical findings to nursing staff and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate documentation.To be successful, you will demonstrate sharp observational skills, a thorough understanding of cardiac rhythms, and the ability to act quickly and precisely under pressure, crucial for patient safety and timely intervention.- Maintains continuity of care by processing patient records accurately and promptly from admission to discharge.
- Uses current information system.
- Constantly observes all monitors and promptly notifies Charge Nurse or RN responsible for patient rhythm and / or invasive waveform changes.
- Functions efficiently during emergency situations.
- Able to run and troubleshoot monitor equipment, reporting any malfunction to Charge RN, Clinical Supervisor or Director.
- Obtains documentation strips at required times of all EKG and applicable waveforms.
Job Requirements
Required- High School GED High school diploma or GED equivalent., upon hire or
- High School Graduate High school diploma or GED equivalent., upon hire and
- Basic EKG class or successful completionof the Basic Rhythm test., upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
- Medical terminology class or related training. and One (1) year Monitor Tech experience inan acute care setting., upon hire and
- Previous experiencewith a patient care module or personalcomputer.
