Position Overview
This senior leadership role directs a major long-range scientific research initiative while guiding the application of research to regulatory decision-making and public policy. The successful candidate will oversee research strategy, contract management, budgeting, scientific proposal development, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with domestic and international scientific organizations. Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all aspects of a long-range scientific research initiative
• Develop research priorities, objectives, and long-term scientific strategies
• Manage research contracts, consultant relationships, budgets, and resource allocation
• Oversee competitive scientific proposal and bid processes
• Coordinate scientific committees comprised of industry, academic, and government experts
• Apply scientific research and data analysis to support regulatory and policy decision-making
• Present research strategies and findings to executives, board members, and external stakeholders

Requirements
• Master's or Doctoral Degree in Science or Related Technical Field REQUIRED
• Minimum 10 Years of Chemical Industry, Related Industry, or Government Experience REQUIRED
• Strong Data Analysis and Interpretation Skills for Complex Scientific Studies Related to Chemical Safety and Policy REQUIRED
• Experience Working with International Research Organizations or Multinational Scientific Initiatives REQUIRED
• Experience with Scientific and Chemical Assessment Programs and Related Scientific Venues REQUIRED
• Experience Managing Scientific Research Programs, Budgets, Contracts, and Consultants REQUIRED
• Strong Scientific Communication and Executive Presentation Skills REQUIRED
• Experience Building Relationships with Government, Industry, Academic, and International Scientific Organizations REQUIRED
• Knowledge of Regulatory Frameworks and Chemical Safety Compliance Preferred
• Familiarity with Risk Assessment Methodologies Preferred
• Advanced Training in Toxicology, Environmental Science, or Public Health Preferred
