We are looking for a professional to join our Sustainability team as a Social Impact Specialist, covering a maternity leave for our Istanbul Office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the social audit area across MANGO’s supply chain, with a particular focus on suppliers in Turkey, including the monitoring, follow-up and assessment of social audits and corrective action plans. Ensure compliance with specific factory requirements in the country, including Health & Safety standards, a strong knowledge of Turkish labour legislation, and familiarity with seismic performance assessment reports and related technical documentation.
- Maintain direct communication with Turkish suppliers and manage information related to production factories in Turkey, while also supporting the management of production facilities in other countries across MANGO’s supply chain when required.
- Implement the human rights due diligence process, with a particular focus on Turkey.
- Manage social impact projects focused on Turkey, with the potential to be implemented in other countries in collaboration with the wider Social Impact team.
- Manage human rights-related complaints and grievances involving Turkish suppliers.
- Contribute to social reporting activities, including the Sustainability Report, indices, rankings and other relevant initiatives.
- Work closely with the other areas within the Sustainability department.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, Engineering, Economics, Law or a related field.
- Master’s degree, postgraduate qualification or specific training in Sustainability / CSR, Human Rights, Risk Management, International Cooperation or Project Management.
- Experience in human rights and social impact risk management within consulting, auditing or corporate environments.
- Knowledge of the textile industry and MANGO’s required social audit frameworks, such as SMETA (SEDEX), FSLM (Cascale) and BSCI (amfori), will be considered a plus.
- Strong interest in sustainability, social impact and human rights.
- Strong communication skills, proactivity and resilience.
- Analytical and organisational skills.
- At least 4 years of demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- International and field experience, as well as experience working with accredited audit/certification bodies and international fashion brands, will be considered a plus.
- Native-level Turkish is essential.
- Fluent English is essential.
- Strong digital skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Availability to travel.
