Within Impact Solutions, the Nature Careers & Training business develops products and services that support researchers' professional development and career success. 
 
As part of this business, the Researcher Training Solutions team develops and delivers the Nature Masterclasses portfolio, providing professional development opportunities for researchers worldwide.  
 
Nature Masterclasses offers a range of learning experiences for researchers, including self-paced digital learning, live virtual and in person training, and webinars. Our products support researchers at every stage of the research lifecycle, from planning and conducting research through to publication, communication and career development.  
 
We are a small but dynamic global team that combines expertise in publishing, learning design, learning technology and researcher development to create high-quality learning experiences for researchers around the world.  

 

 

About the Role  

 

The Learning Technologist is responsible formaximising the value of the Nature Masterclasses learning technology ecosystem, with a particular focus on ownership and optimisation of the Docebo learning platform.  
 
Working closely with the Learning Design Manager, Publishing Team and Product Team, you will help shape how technology supports our learners, improve platform functionality and learner experience, and support the successful delivery of our digital learning portfolio.  
 
This is a highly collaborative role that combines platform administration, technical problem solving, systems optimisation and digital learning development.  
 
Alongside platform ownership, you will contribute to the development, maintenance and publishing of digital learning content using Articulate Rise and Storyline, while supporting quality assurance, accessibility and continuous improvement initiatives.  

 

Role Responsibilities:  

 

Learning Technology and Platform Management 

 

  • Own and optimise the Nature Masterclasses Docebo platform. 

  • Act as the team's subject matter expert for Docebo functionality, administration and best practice. 

  • Partner with stakeholders to design and implement learning pathways, certification programmes and learner experiences. 

  • Work collaboratively with publishing, product and learning design colleagues to recommend and implement improvements that increase learner engagement, platform adoption and operational efficiency. 

  • Configure and maintain platform settings, reporting, and learner management processes. 

  • Support integrations with webinar platforms and other third-party technologies. 

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve platform related issues. 

  • Manage relationships with learning technology vendors and technical partners. 

 

 

Learning Technology Innovation 

 

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, optimisation and new functionality. 

  • Research and evaluate emerging learning technologies and recommend opportunities for improvement. 

  • Advise stakeholders on learning technology capabilities and best practice. 

  • Support learning technology projects and platform enhancements. 

 

Digital Learning Development 

 

  • Develop, maintain and publish digital learning content using Articulate Rise and Storyline. 

  • Manage updates and enhancements to the Nature Masterclasses digital learning portfolio, ensuring content remainsaccurate, accessible and technically robust. 

  • Liaise with external vendors and freelancers involved in digital learning development. 

 

Analytics and Continuous Improvement 

 

  • Develop and maintain LMS reports and dashboards. 

  • Analyse learner engagement and platform usage data. 

  • Use learner data, platform analytics, and user feedback to identify opportunities to improve learner engagement and product performance. 

  • Conduct quality assurance and testing activities across the Nature Masterclasses portfolio. 

  • Support evaluation and reporting activities. 

 

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:  

 

Essential  

 

  • Experience administering or managing a Learning Management System (LMS) or Learning Experience Platform (LXP). 

  • Experience managing, developing, or optimising learning platforms and learning technologies to improve learner experience and business outcomes. 

  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 

  • Experience using Articulate Rise and/or Storyline. 

  • Experience conducting quality assurance and testing activities. 

  • Strong understanding of learner support, platform administration, and digital learning delivery. 

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Experience using reporting and analytics to support decision making. 

  • Demonstrable ability to learn and master new systems and technologies quickly. 

 

Desirable   

 

  • Experience administering Docebo. 

  • Experience configuring learning pathways, certifications and learner journeys. 

  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS. 

  • Experience administering webinar and virtual event platforms. 

  • Knowledge of SCORM and xAPI. 

  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity or learning experiences. 

  • Understanding of scientists' and researchers' learning and development needs. 

  • Experience working within higher education, academic publishing or EdTech environments. 

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and WCAG requirements. 

  • Experience supporting global audiences and products.
