ensure the proper placement and operation of sub-meters, and tests water meters as necessary in accordance with AWWA standards. Performs quality assurance and quality control related tasks and assists in training of Metered Services staff as necessary.
Pay $23.27 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years of experience with meter reading, meter testing, meter replacement, and customer service required.
- Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Certification from Missouri Department of Natural Resources as Backflow Tester required within six months of employment.
- Certification of Confined Space Safety and Entry required within six months of employment.
- Possess or obtain an OSHA 10 certification required within six months of employment
- Possess or obtain a valid Missouri DNR DS-I license required within twelve months of employment
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of meters, meter testing equipment, meter installation and related standards.
- Proficient knowledge of Itron or related meter reading equipment.
- Proficient knowledge of automated meter reading (AMR) systems.
- Working knowledge of municipal water system operations.
- Knowledge of Meter Technician functions.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing.
- Knowledge of safety procedures for confined space.
- Knowledge of backflow regulations, assemblies, hazards, and laws.
- Skills in working with the public in a polite and effective manner.
- Ability to troubleshoot water-related problems efficiently.
- Ability to operate and repair small machinery.
