Primary Function
The Senior Professional Engineer provides program and project management supports DOE clients at several DOE site locations.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Actively supports and upholds the Company’s stated vision, mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Performs analyses of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting for DOE Capital Asset Projects and provide reports
- Performs data analytics and develop tools to mine data for reporting
- Performs staffing analysis using approved DOE staffing models and analytical processes
- Provides expert consultation to DOE clients on operations technical issues
- Develops and executes project management improvement strategies that are authorized by DOE
- Participates in DOE Program and Project Peer Reviews as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Manages and oversees development of DOE EM Monthly Program Portfolio Reports
- Provides consultation and support in various PM related topics to DOE
- Develops policies and procedures that implement various DOE regulations and standards
- Researches and develops Lessons Learned Bulletins on various topics related to project and program management, construction of major facilities, decommissioning and decontamination of facilities, and environmental remediation.
- Provides cost estimating support during program and project reviews
Job Requirements
- BS/BA in engineering, finance, mathematics, or computer science
- 5 years or more data analytics experience
- 5 years of database management experience preferred
- 5 or more years of program/project management related activities
- Knowledge of major nuclear facility construction, operation, and or D&D
- Knowledge of DOE regulations related to project management a plus
- Must have excellent oral and written communications (including presentations)
- Demonstrated ability to generate original papers for client use
- Analytical experience using Excel, Primavera, or MS Project
- Expert knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to work independently and manage a team of diverse staff
- Availability to travel to support DOE requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Certification desired as PE, PMP, CCP, RMP, EVP
- Strong written and oral presentation skills

- Proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Good eye/hand coordination required.
