WAREHOUSE CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Warehouse Clerk supports daily warehouse operations by receiving materials, picking and packing orders, preparing
shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The goal of this position is to increase operational efficiency, profitability,
and customer satisfaction while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
● Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading trucks, verifying incoming merchandise, and documenting
discrepancies.
● Process requests and supply orders by locating, pulling, verifying, packing, labeling, and staging materials for shipment or
delivery.
● Verify part numbers, quantities, and order information to help ensure accuracy.
● Sort and place materials or products on racks, shelves, pallets, or in designated bins according to established organizational
standards.
● Receive, distribute, and record materials and inventory transactions using the company's computer or inventory-management
system.
● Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and investigating inventory discrepancies.
● Safely load, unload, move, and secure materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other approved equipment.

Inspect materials for visible damage and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the appropriate supervisor.
● Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, aisles, workstations, and loading
areas free of hazards.
● Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
● Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, drivers, and other departments.
● Work cooperatively as part of a team to complete daily assignments and meet customer needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works both inside and outside the warehouse and may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, dirt, noise,
moving vehicles, machinery, and temperature changes. Required personal protective equipment must be worn as directed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:
● Stand, walk, reach, grasp, handle materials, and communicate effectively.
● Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
● Occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
● Regularly lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects weighing between 10 and 50 pounds.
● Occasionally move materials weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance or appropriate material-handling equipment.
● Safely perform repetitive material-handling activities throughout the workday.
● Maintain the visual ability necessary to read labels and documents, operate equipment, identify hazards, and accurately
handle inventory.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
No routine travel is required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required.
● Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
● Ability to complete company-required safety and equipment training.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● High school diploma or GED
● Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, or material-handling experience
● Previous forklift experience or certification
● Experience using inventory-management or warehouse-management systems
