JOB SUMMARY

As Commercialisation Manager at Canary Wharf, you will play a pivotal role in driving commercial income through strategic brand partnerships, activations, and ambient media. You will collaborate across internal teams and external agencies to deliver best-in-class brand experiences, ensuring Canary Wharf remains a leading destination for innovation, retail, and cultural engagement.

Annual salary: circa £55k dependent on experience

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an office-based role with the flexibility to work from home up to 1 day per week.

  • Work with key CWG departments (inc. Retail, Communications and Marketing, Asset Management and Operations) to develop, and agree an annual strategy, business plan and approach for commercialisation
  • Collaborate with the Asset Manager to deliver and exceed the business plan for Canary Wharf assets
  • Source and manage relationships with advertising agencies, brand experience agencies and Space Finder agencies (e.g. Ocean Outdoor, HighJam, Lo:Live)
  • Develop relationships with local, national and international brands to deliver unique activations at Canary Wharf, creating opportunities for sponsorships and full brand takeovers
  • Identify and engage with non-retail organisations to develop and maintain a catalogue of commercial assets across the estate, including pricing, packages, and operational constraints. Build benchmarking data for CWG-related costs (e.g. utilities and security) to support efficient commercial decision-making, and contribute to the delivery of the Events and Sponsorship Strategy alongside Marketing and Art + Events teams
  • Work closely with retail marketing to ensure alignment with Retail Promotion Fund activates and activations
  • Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for brand partnerships
  • Act as the key contact for all internal teams regarding brand partnerships
  • Working with the Film & Photography Location Manager, supporting wider income-generating activities such as filming requests and applications, ensuring compliance with Canary Wharf Group’s filming policy
  • Liaise with production companies to arrange and conduct site tours, assess feasibility, and secure necessary permissions from tenants and internal departments
  • Coordinate risk assessments, method statements and insurance requirements for all commercialisation and filming activities, and oversee the safe installation and management of productions with brands and internal stakeholders where dedicated operational support is not available
  • Ensure all legal documentation, including contracts and permits, are accurately prepared, reviewed, and stored using platforms such as DocuSign
  • Ensuring commercial partnership and activation are in accordance with CWG’s guidelines for advertising, retail and commercialisation
  • Identify and raise any potential reputation risks associated with commercialisation and agree mitigation plans with Marketing and Communications

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Proven experience in specialty leasing, retail, or shopping centre environments.
  • Understanding of leases, license’s, and commercial agreements is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with legal documentation and contract management would be advantageous.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
  • Pro-active and self-motivated team player, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining brand equity and managing reputation risk
