We are currently hiring a Contract Recruiter — Accounting & Finance to help grow our company and ensure our mission is achieved! This is a contracting opportunity focused on full-cycle recruiting for accounting and finance roles. The contractor will own requisitions end-to-end — from intake through signed offer — across a broad range of finance and accounting functions.
Employee Value Proposition (EVP): PROG is dedicated to providing people with opportunity; opportunity for inclusive collaboration, opportunity for innovation, and opportunity for development.
WE ARE:
A fast-moving FinTech company where finance and accounting functions are foundational to our business. Our talent acquisition team moves with urgency, values precision, and holds a high bar for candidate quality. We partner with sharp, self-directed recruiters who can own a desk and deliver results without daily oversight.
YOU ARE:
An experienced full-cycle recruiter who specializes in accounting and finance. You speak the language of the function, understand the difference between someone who owned a close versus someone who supported one, and you build real pipelines — not post-and-pray lists. You manage a busy desk with ease, keep your ATS spotless, and communicate in a way that hiring managers trust and candidates remember.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Run intake calls with hiring managers and translate them into a written search strategy covering target titles, target companies, compensation range, and must-haves versus trainables.
- Source passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, alumni networks of local public accounting firms, and your own professional network.
- Screen for technical depth — distinguishing candidates who owned month-end close from those who reconciled a handful of accounts.
- Write and post job ads that read like a person wrote them.
- Submit qualified candidates with a written summary covering fit, comp expectations, reason for the move, notice period, and offer risk.
- Coordinate interviews, prep candidates, run manager debriefs, and keep every active candidate warm throughout the process.
- Manage offer conversations including compensation negotiation, counteroffer risk, and start date alignment.
- Keep the ATS current daily — notes, stages, and dispositions accurate enough that someone else could pick up your desk tomorrow.
- Report weekly on pipeline health: sourced, screened, submitted, interviewed, offers out, and where each role is stuck.
YOU'LL BRING:
- 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 2 years focused on accounting and finance placements.
- Proven placements from staff accountant through controller or finance director.
- Working fluency in finance and accounting concepts — you can hold a credible conversation about month-end close, GAAP, revenue recognition, FP&A, and common ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, and QuickBooks.
- Comfort managing a busy desk with 8–12 active requisitions as a normal week, not a crisis.
- Real direct sourcing skill — posting and waiting will not fill these roles.
- ATS fluency (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Bullhorn, or iCIMS) and clean, consistent documentation habits.
- Written communication that a hiring manager can forward without editing.
- Self-directed work style — you will be given context and priorities, not daily supervision.
- AI-enabled tools are already part of how work gets done across our organization, and their use will continue to expand over time. We value people who are curious, adaptable, and open to learning as roles and workflows evolve.
WE OFFER:
- Competitive Compensation
- Full Health Benefits; Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance + Paid Parental Leave
- Company Matched 401k
- Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays + Paid Volunteer Time
- Diversity Alliance Resource Groups
- Employee Stock Purchase Program
- Tuition Reimbursement
- Charitable Gift Matching
- Job Required Equipment & Services Will Be Provided
