As an Access Control Security Officer at a government location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, monitor activity, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. - Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and authorized personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization, screen visitors according to facility procedures, and maintain accurate visitor and access-related records.
- Control access to restricted areas, issue and collect credentials or passes as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or policy violations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities in accordance with site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
