Position : Senior Product Manager
Location / Branch : Johannesburg (Hybrid)
Reports to : CTO
Overview:
TSPC is South Africa's leading distributor of MNO sim cards, with a network of over 10,000 agents operating across all nine provinces. For 14 years, the company has empowered township entrepreneurs through its proprietary TSPC RICA app - a zero-rated platform enabling digital sim card RICA registrations, commission tracking, and instant withdrawals. TSPC sits at the intersection of technology and the township economy, building financial opportunity at grassroots level. TSPC is seeking a Product Manager to act as the bridge between customer needs and the development team. The role is responsible for ensuring TSPC's digital products - including a proprietary agent-facing mobile platform, scanner functionality, and reporting dashboard - are user- centric, clearly specified, and delivered to a high standard. The role reports to the CIO and works closely with the development team.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the existing product backlog, prioritising features based on user research and business value
- Spearhead and advocate for new features
- Be the voice of the customer within the technology department
- Conduct user research and translate customer feedback into clear, actionable product requirements
- Perform data analytics to assess feature performance and identify optimisation opportunities
- Create wireframes, user stories, and functional specifications for new and existing features
- Storyboard and spec TSPC's proprietary agent platform - managing the full feature design and briefing cycle
- Facilitate sprint planning and ensure the development team has unambiguous, complete briefs
- Validate delivered features against user and business requirements before release
- Maintain the product roadmap and communicate priorities across stakeholders
Requirements:
- Technical background in product management, business analysis, or a related discipline (essential)
- Proficiency in wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma or Balsamiq (essential)
- Strong data analytics capability; comfortable working with product metrics and dashboards
- Solid understanding of agile/scrum methodology and backlog management
- User research skills - able to design, conduct, and synthesise research
- Experience in fintech, mobile apps, or agent-facing platforms (preferred)
