Description

Based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch

Our People team is a diverse bunch of people, deeply committed to delivering an exceptional people experience. We're passionate about innovation, helping our people thrive and enabling them to do their best work.

We're looking for an experienced HRIS Analyst to help ensure our people systems run smoothly and provide trusted, accurate people data across our global footprint. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on position management, employee movements, data integrity and the administration of BambooHR and our wider systems environment.

What you'll be doing

As our HRIS Analyst, you'll manage position and employee movement activity across our people systems, including new joiners, role changes, organisational changes and departures. You'll look beyond each individual transaction to understand its wider impact, identify potential downstream issues and help ensure workforce changes are implemented accurately and seamlessly. You'll be a key partner to the wider People team, Payroll, Digital and operational stakeholders, ensuring our people data remains accurate and trusted.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage data quality and integrity across our people systems, maintaining a trusted single source of truth.
  • Lead position management activities and ensure employee movements are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Be the go-to person for BambooHR and ServiceNow for the People team, including system administration, permissions management, reporting, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with Payroll, People and Digital teams to support seamless workforce administration and maintain data flows across systems.
  • Support people reporting requirements by providing accurate workforce data, insights and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across our people systems, processes and employee experience.

Alongside these core responsibilities, you'll work closely with stakeholders across New Zealand and internationally to resolve issues, provide guidance and training, manage vendor relationships and ensure our people systems continue to meet organisational needs as they evolve. You'll also play an important role in anticipating risks and addressing system or process issues before they impact the wider business.

What you'll need to be successful

This opportunity will suit an experienced HRIS or people systems professional who can quickly add value in a complex environment. You will be naturally curious, highly organised and able to see the bigger picture while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You enjoy solving problems, improving processes and collaborating with others to deliver great outcomes.

You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience working with HRIS platforms and position management processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of maintaining high-quality data.
  • Experience managing employee movements and organisational changes within a medium to large organisation.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience working with workforce data and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving capability and the ability to manage complex workforce and system scenarios.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating across People, Payroll, Digital and operational teams

Experience with BambooHR would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to systems such as ServiceNow or PowerBI. We're particularly interested in candidates who can think beyond individual transactions, understand the broader organisational impacts of workforce changes and confidently balance multiple priorities. Experience working in an international organisation, supporting complex or volumes of workforce activity, or using AI tools to improve productivity would also be beneficial.

Why you'll love working here

At NZTE, our purpose is to grow companies internationally, bigger, better and faster, for the good of New Zealand. We’re a fun bunch of driven people who are committed and connected to the purpose of NZTE to grow New Zealand companies internationally.  Our environment encourages experimentation and constant learning, intellectual challenge and honesty.
