The Sanctuary Golf Club, a prestigious, Member-owned private golf club located in beautiful Sanibel, FL is accepting resumes for a Part-Time Seasonal Host/Hostess.


Our newly renovated Clubhouse spaces will offer an exciting, updated environment for our Food and Beverage team. The transformation includes a brand-new bar with 18+ bar seats and 35 additional casual dining seats, a flexible dining space designed for private events and social gatherings, improved acoustics, and completely updated furnishings and finishes.


With enhanced accessibility and thoughtfully designed spaces throughout, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team as we open the doors to fresh, modern dining experiences at The Sanctuary!

Compensation: $22.00 per hour 


Schedule: Part- Time, 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM, multiple days including a combination of weekdays, weekends and holidays (approximately 22 hours per week), must be dependable and flexible to operational needs.

Requirements

  • Greets Members and their Guests warmly and professionally upon arrival. 
  • Recognizes and acknowledges Members by name, providing personalized and attentive service. 
  • Escorts Members and Guests to their tables and provide menus or other appropriate dining information. 
  • Creates a warm and engaging atmosphere while anticipating Members’ needs.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and a genuine desire to build positive relationships with Club Members and Guests.
  • Follows Club policies and procedures while consistently maintaining high standards of service.
  • Helps manage reservations, wait lists, and seating assignments to maximize the flow and efficiency of the dining room. 
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of dining room layouts, table availability, reservations, and daily service activities. 
  • Coordinates closely with Servers, Bartenders, Culinary staff, and Management to ensure a seamless dining experience. 
  • Monitors table availability and communicate wait times accurately and courteously. 
  • Answers questions regarding menus, Club events, and dining options, or direct inquiries to the appropriate team member. 
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area. 
  • Assists with resetting tables, organizing menus, and other light dining room duties as needed. 
  • Assists the service team during busy periods to help maintain an efficient and positive experience. 
  • Handles Member and Guest concerns with professionalism and promptly involve management when appropriate. 
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with the Club's standards. 
  • Attends staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions and training, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education, Experience, Skills and Requirements

  • At least one year of experience, upscale environment preferred (private club environment, a plus)
  • Must consistently demonstrate friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, obliging and attentive service to Members and Guests in all areas of the Club, including the dining rooms, banquet, and spaces in and around the Clubhouse
  • Show outstanding professionalism and helpfulness to everyone, including coworkers
  • Approach each shift with a positive attitude and commitment to the team
  • Must be dependable and available to work nights, holidays and weekends

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods throughout shifts and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
  • Push, pull, lift, move up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties for extended periods, including moving boxes, large tables, chairs and other dining and event-related furniture and equipment
  • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
  • Work in hot, humid and noisy environment
