Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Strategy & Analytics, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Manager, Power Portfolio to join our Energy Solutions division.
In this pivotal role, you will help shape the future of our power portfolio by leading strategic planning, driving portfolio prioritisation and identifying opportunities that support the delivery of our Energy Solutions strategy. Operating at the forefront of the energy transition, you will assess market trends, macroeconomic factors and emerging opportunities to help optimise capital deployment and create long term value.
You will also provide analytical leadership and specialist support across power investment opportunities, partnering with senior stakeholders to inform key strategic decisions.
This is a permanent full-time position that can be based in Perth, Brisbane or Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning cycle for the power business, shaping divisional plans, performance measures and strategic priorities that support long term growth.
- Drive the prioritisation of power opportunities by maintaining and evolving portfolio frameworks, ensuring capital is allocated to initiatives that deliver the greatest strategic and commercial value.
- Partner with senior leaders to advance Energy Solutions' long term power development strategy, providing insights on market trends, industry dynamics and emerging opportunities.
- Provide robust commercial and analytical support for organic growth initiatives, developing business cases that inform critical investment decisions.
- Influence key business decisions through the preparation of high-quality analysis, board papers and executive level presentations, while fostering continuous improvement across portfolio governance and decision-making forums.
Your background
- You will have a tertiary qualification in economics, commerce, engineering or a related discipline, supported by significant experience in strategy, portfolio analytics, investments or the energy sector.
- You will bring strong portfolio management capabilities, with the ability to develop priorities and frameworks to support long-term business strategies
- You will have exposure to the National Electricity Market (NEM) and/or the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM), with an understanding of the market dynamics shaping Australia's energy transition.
- You will bring exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to influence and build credibility with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- You will have strong commercial acumen, including exposure to assessing investment opportunities and an understanding of power purchase agreements.
- You will bring at least 5 years' relevant experience, ideally gained within the energy sector, with exposure to power, strategy, corporate development, portfolio management or investment analysis.
- You will have experience working within wholesale electricity markets or broader energy businesses, enabling you to quickly understand industry challenges and opportunities.
