Description

Are you seeking a part-time job that involves keeping city buildings clean and presentable for the public? This opportunity could be perfect for you.
We are hiring for one custodial assistant position. This role handles custodial tasks and other necessary responsibilities to maintain City buildings and facilities clean and in good condition.
Schedule: The schedule may vary based on program needs. Candidates must be available to work 3–4 days per week, including weekdays and weekends, with shifts scheduled in the morning, afternoon, and/or evening.
Assignments may include:
- One day per week at the City’s Art Center
- One day per week at the Children’s Theatre
- Up to two days per week at Cubberley Community Center
This is an SEIU Hourly (limited benefits) position that is budgeted to not exceed 1,000 hours per fiscal year. The number of hours per week and schedule will be determined based on assignment.
The City of Palo Alto offers the following benefits to those in a SEIU Hourly position:
- Medical Stipend $3.80 per hour
- Sick Leave Earn .03 hour of sick leave for each hour worked.

Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills and abilities, which would typically be acquired through:
- Two years’ experience in custodial service or related.
- Understanding the operation and repair of all custodial-related materials.
