Job Description
Job Summary:**
The Area Sales Manager at Becton Dickinson India Private Limited will be responsible for driving sales growth, achieving targets, and managing all sales activities within a designated geographical area. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and leading a team to maximize market share for BD's innovative medical technology solutions.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and business objectives for the assigned territory.
* Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives to optimize individual and team performance, including setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and providing ongoing training and development.
* Identify and cultivate strong relationships with key customers, including hospitals, clinics, diagnostic labs, and government agencies, understanding their needs and positioning BD solutions effectively.
* Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential threats.
* Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and prospecting to negotiation, closing deals, and post-sales support.
* Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and business reviews to senior management.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, medical affairs, and customer service teams to ensure seamless customer experience and product adoption.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant industry regulations.
* Manage sales budget and expenses effectively.
* Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and events to promote BD's products and services.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in medical device or pharmaceutical sales, with at least 3-5 years in a sales management role.
* Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
* Strong understanding of the Indian healthcare market, including key stakeholders, purchasing processes, and regulatory landscape.
* Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
* Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
* High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.
