Job Description:

Designs and develops engaging, effective user experiences for a digital product or product type to drive customer adoption. Identifies requirements and enhances usability and aesthetic appeal of the digital experience through the design of interactive flows, sketches, storyboards, wireframes, motion studies, mock-ups, and prototypes. Stays informed on technology and research on customer preferences, identifying opportunities to apply new technologies to enhance the digital experience.

Leads and establishes a high-performing Digital Experience & User Design capability focused on our internal associates and business partners. This role will own the team’s strategic vision, manage a portfolio of high-impact projects, and champion the value of user-centered design across the enterprise. As the leader of a flat team of five specialists, you will be responsible for their mentorship, development, and the overall success of the team’s delivery.

Core Accountabilities

  • Team Leadership & Strategy: Define the team’s mission, vision, and strategic roadmap. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.

  • People Management: Directly manage a flat team of five specialists, including two Standards experts and three Digital Experience Designers. Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development.

  • Portfolio & Pipeline Management: Establish and manage the intake process for design engagements from across the business. Prioritize projects based on strategic value and impact.

  • Stakeholder Management & Evangelism: Act as the primary advocate for user-centered design. Build strong relationships with leaders in IT, HR, Finance, and other business units to ensure design is a key consideration in all digital initiatives.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the team’s budget, resource allocation, and toolset. Report on team performance and the ROI of design initiatives.

  • Technology Portfolio: Responsible for the company's technology portfolio standards, platforms, and continual optimization.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the UX, product design, or digital experience field, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or management capacity.

  • Proven experience building and leading high-performing design teams.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect design initiatives to tangible business outcomes.

  • Experience managing a portfolio of projects and familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
