Overview
The Team Member Relations Specialist serves as a trusted advisor to team members and leaders by promoting positive employee relations, ensuring consistent application of company policies, and supporting a productive, inclusive, and legally compliant work environment. This role conducts workplace investigations, resolves employee concerns, provides guidance on employment-related matters, and partners with leadership to address performance, conduct, and workplace culture issues.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations Support
- Manage lower-level employee relations cases, including attendance concerns, interpersonal conflicts, basic performance issues, and policy violations.
- Conduct fact-finding and documentation for assigned cases and recommend appropriate next steps in alignment with policy and practice.
- Partner closely with the Director of Team Member Relations on escalated or sensitive cases.
- Ensure consistency, fairness, and confidentiality in all employee relations matters.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
Policy, Compliance & Documentation
- Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and employment practices consistently.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and tracking within HR systems.
- Identify trends in inquiries or cases and proactively flag opportunities for policy clarification, training, or process improvement.
Team Member Experience & Collaboration
- Deliver a high-touch, service-oriented experience that reinforces trust in HR.
- Collaborate with HR Operations and Centers of Excellence to continuously improve the team member experience.
- Support broader Team Member Relations initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills
- Solid understanding of HR policies, employment practices, and employee relations fundamentals.
- Strong judgment and ability to appropriately assess when escalation is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple inquiries and cases simultaneously.
- Comfortable working within an intake, case management, or shared services model.
Experience Required
- 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, HR generalist work, or HR service delivery.
- Experience working in a high-volume, employee-facing HR environment strongly preferred (healthcare or similarly complex environment a plus).
Education Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Credentials Preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred (or willingness to obtain).
