Front End Manager
Full-Time Position
Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable, customer-focused Front End Manager to help lead our front-end team and ensure an exceptional experience for every customer.
In this role, you will help oversee the day-to-day operation of the front end, provide leadership and support to front-end associates, maintain appropriate staffing and coverage, and ensure our customers receive friendly, efficient, and professional service.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and takes pride in creating a positive experience for both customers and associates.
Previous management or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
What You'll Do

Lead and support front-end team members to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.

Provide exceptional customer service and set the standard for a welcoming, positive customer experience.

Assign check stands and ensure appropriate front-end coverage throughout each shift.

Coordinate team members breaks and lunches while maintaining adequate coverage.

Train, coach, mentor, and develop front-end team members to help them succeed.

Provide consistent, honest, and constructive feedback regarding performance and opportunities for improvement.

Ensure cashiers and courtesy clerks follow established policies, procedures, and customer-service standards.

Promote our Soelbergs Savers rewards by ensuring cashiers appropriately offer and promote the program to every customer.

Monitor cashier performance and Soelbergs Savers participation.

Assist with checking and bagging during busy periods or when additional support is needed.
-
Perform register overrides and assist with pricing questions or discrepancies.
-
Process customer refunds and exchanges according to company policies.
-
Handle customer concerns and complaints with professionalism, patience, and sound judgment.

Assist customers with questions and help them locate products throughout the store.
-
Ensure go-backs are completed accurately and efficiently.

Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked front-end areas, including check stands and supplies.

Ensure pricing accuracy and proper scanning procedures.

Audit and verify tills throughout the day and at store closing.

Accurately handle cash and provide correct change while maintaining balanced tills.

Follow Soelbergs Market policies and procedures regarding checks, gift cards, WIC checks, and other forms of payment.

Follow established procedures for opening and closing the store.

Actively participate on the Safety Committee and help promote a safe environment for customers and associates.

Communicate openly and regularly with the Store Directors.

Support other departments and assist with store-wide needs as necessary.

Previous management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

A high school diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Physical & Work Environment
This position is performed primarily in a retail store environment that is generally safe and comfortable, with occasional exposure to hot or cold conditions.
The position requires frequent standing and walking throughout the workday, as well as bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and carrying. The role also requires repetitive motion and effective eye, hand, and foot coordination, along with the ability to hear and respond to customer and associate needs.
Associates must be able to maneuver objects weighing up to 30 pounds from one location to another.
