We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Seasonal Kitchen Manager to oversee our production kitchen during our busy fall season. This position works alongside a small prep team to prepare high-volume food items and ensure our food outlets throughout the farm are stocked and ready for service. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen, and able to lead by example while maintaining food quality and safety standards.
This is a seasonal position running approximately mid-September through early November, during our busiest time of year. The regular schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, approximately 7:00 AM–4:00 PM. Reliable attendance throughout the fall season, particularly on weekends, is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operation of the production kitchen with a small prep team.
- Prepare food according to established high-volume recipes, production lists, and quality standards.
- Organize daily prep priorities to ensure food is prepared and distributed on schedule.
- Coordinate and distribute prepared food to multiple food service locations throughout the farm.
- Monitor production levels and adjust prep based on anticipated needs.
- Count and maintain kitchen inventory daily.
- Communicate product and purchasing needs to the Food Service Director.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production kitchen.
- Properly store, label, rotate, and handle food products.
- Safely operate and maintain standard commercial kitchen equipment.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and putting away food and supply deliveries as needed.
- Help keep the kitchen running efficiently during high-volume fall weekends.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a commercial or high-volume kitchen required.
- Strong knife skills and food preparation experience.
- Comfortable operating commercial kitchen equipment, including slicers, deep fryers, Robot Coupe food processors, immersion blenders, and similar equipment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple production needs and work efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a small team.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable transporting prepared food between locations on the farm.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Previous kitchen leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Able to stand and move for extended periods, repeatedly bending and reaching, and lifting and carrying food, ingredients, and kitchen supplies throughout the workday.
