Description
A Little About Us
The Central Tech Developer Experience (DX) team builds and operates the core platform infrastructure that powers software delivery across Yahoo. We own the overarching CI/CD ecosystem, artifact management, deployment engines (ArgoCD GitOps), and automated developer tooling. Operating with a product-first mindset, our squad defines enterprise golden paths, lowers developer friction, and architects agentic AI automation pipelines to eliminate operational toil at scale for thousands of engineers.
Responsibilities
Platform Architecture & Golden Paths: Lead the end-to-end design and rollout of modern developer platform initiatives across CI/CD, artifact repositories (Artifactory), release management, and GitOps deployments (ArgoCD).
Agentic AI & Workflow Automation: Architect and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems (utilizing tools such as Anthropic Claude via AWS Bedrock) that automatically generate, migrate, validate, and maintain complex platform configurations and deployment manifests at scale.
AI Evaluation & Guardrails: Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks, regression testing loops, correctness verification engines, and policy guardrails to ensure AI-generated developer configurations operate safely on production infrastructure.
Governance & Enterprise Standards: Define enterprise paved-road templates, reusable workflows, and CI compute standards that scale across the organization without creating friction for product engineering teams.
AI-Augmented DX Enablement: Drive developer productivity across Yahoo by establishing AI-assisted code generation benchmarks, automated pull-request checks via GitHub Copilot, and intelligent self-service developer portals.
Infrastructure & Security Alignment: Partner closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Compliance teams to embed security and policy enforcement directly into CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Chair technical design reviews, serve as the primary escalation point for complex platform problems, and mentor senior engineers across Central Tech to elevate platform architecture standards.
Product-Minded Platform Management: Treat platform initiatives as internal products—measuring adoption velocity, pipeline reliability, time-to-green metrics, and developer satisfaction to drive continuous iteration.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building production-quality internal developer platforms, platform tooling, or CI/CD ecosystems at scale (IC5 level).
Hands-on experience architecting, building, and operating production LLM or agentic AI automation workflows with strict correctness guardrails and evaluation loops.
Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering and automated development tools (e.g., Anthropic Claude via Bedrock, GitHub Copilot Enterprise).
Deep technical expertise in modern CI/CD architecture, pipeline design, artifact management (e.g., Artifactory), and GitOps-based deployment systems (e.g., ArgoCD).
Demonstrated experience acting as a technical anchor, setting architectural direction, and driving cross-team alignment across complex engineering domains.
Strong technical writing skills with a track record of authoring clear architecture RFCs, developer documentation, and enterprise templates.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Experience leading company-wide GitOps migrations (ArgoCD), including repository structuring, promotion workflows across environments, and secrets management.
Experience designing custom evaluation frameworks for AI agents interacting directly with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
Proven track record of collaborating directly with Security and Compliance stakeholders to encode governance policies directly into automated platform guardrails.
Active open-source contributions to developer tooling, CI/CD plugins, or platform engineering frameworks.
