RN Responsibilities
Clinical & Resident Care
- Provide direct nursing care and clinical oversight to residents.
- Assess resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor resident progress and ensure individualized care plans are followed.
- Perform admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Start IVs and obtain specimens as ordered.
- Participate in care planning, assessments, and discharge planning.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in resident condition.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and support Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs/LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Ensure adequate staffing and assignment coverage during the shift.
- Conduct rounds and monitor quality of care provided by nursing staff.
- Assist with staff training, coaching, and orientation.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on resident-centered care.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary departments to maintain quality outcomes.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
- Support infection prevention and safety initiatives.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programs.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Complete incident reports and follow-up documentation as needed.
- Assist during regulatory surveys and audits.
Qualifications
Required
- Active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Rehabilitation, or Long-Term Care setting
- Training or experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing
- Experience with PCC (PointClickCare) electronic health records
