Wage Range: $20.00 - 21.50 DOE

JOB SUMMARY 

This winter we are looking for energetic, detail-oriented, and guest-focused individuals to join our Tune & Repair Team. The Tune & Repair Technician is responsible for providing high-quality ski and snowboard tuning, repair, and maintenance services while delivering exceptional customer service. 

This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Technicians will learn and perform all aspects of ski and snowboard tuning, repair, binding adjustments, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting while following department and resort safety standards. 

The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, enjoys working with snow sports equipment, and is passionate about helping guests have the best possible experience on the mountain. Team members are expected to develop strong product knowledge, provide equipment recommendations, assist with retail sales, and maintain a clean, organized, and professional workshop environment. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Perform ski and snowboard tuning services including waxing, edging, base repair, stone grinding, and general maintenance.  

  • Mount, adjust, and repair ski and snowboard equipment according to manufacturer specifications and department standards.  

  • Perform binding inspections and adjustments while following industry safety practices and certification requirements.  

  • Maintain and service rental and demo fleets to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and guest-ready. Including fleet preparation and seasonal projects. 

  • Diagnose equipment issues and recommend appropriate repair solutions.  

  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations regarding tuning services, equipment care, accessories, and products.  

  • Assist guests with selecting the appropriate service based on ability level, riding style, snow conditions, and equipment needs.  

  • Complete guest service transactions accurately, including repair orders, retail sales, and service payments.  

  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and equipment services.  

  • Maintain proper inventory levels of ski and snowboard parts, bindings, supplies, and repair materials.  

  • Inspect shop equipment daily and complete routine cleaning and maintenance.  

  • Operate tuning machines, tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently after completing required training and certifications.  

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following department standards  

  • Handle guest questions, concerns, and service issues professionally while working toward positive solutions.  

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

ABILITY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Prior tuning experience desired 

  • Ability to work as a team and take direction 

  • Passes all ski binding and machinery certifications (certifications will be provided)  

  • Knowledgeable about the products we carry/sell 

  • Cash handling accuracy 

  • The ability to upsell products 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • This position requires us to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation. 

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis. 

  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate heavy machinery, computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis. 

  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis. 

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.  

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS  

  • The ability to learn computer programs  

  • Basic mechanical and cash handling experience  

  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time 

  • Communication with our guests
