Job Description:
Purpose of the role:
Our technical offer is partially related to our ability to engineer facilities ensuring high level of reliability and process safety. This role will support this objective
The post holder will be responsible for designing to the best engineering standard, delivering safely and within the cost agreed the engineering project assigned to him.
Key accountabilities:
- The primary role of the post holder is to deliver GA engineering project assigned (safely, within cost & delays) in France and BNL,
- The post holder will be SPA for the selected list of local BNL maintenance contractors,
- Ensure that BP Group HSSE Expectations are fully met through thorough implementation of the relevant technical standard.
- Ensure that BP Group and Air BP Engineering standards are fully met.
- Provide safety leadership working alongside with stakeholders (including CoW activities).
- The post holder will ensure French & BNL regulation is met.
Key challenges:
The post holder is directly responsible for :
a- facilitating the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
b- leading the planning and implementation of project
c- defining project tasks and resource requirements
Conduct the studies of Front-End Engineering Design & Design Qualification including HAZOP process
Conduct the call for tender and contractors’ selection in compliance with applicable rules and standards
d- developing full scale project plans including layout plans, PID & PFD
validating functional analysis of automated systems
e- coordinating project staff & Contractors
ensuring that HSSE and regulatory rules are respected during all phases of projects
managing Control of Work aspects on his project, including delivering work permits if necessary
f- managing project budget
g- managing project resource allocation
h- planning and schedule project timelines on MS Project
defining and implementing critical path analysis from the very beginning
i-tracking project deliverables using appropriate tools
j- providing direction and support to project team
k- quality assurance
l- constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
m- presenting reports defining project progress, problems and solutions, incident reporting
n- implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
o- project evaluations and assessment of results
leading Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test and Installation Qualification
organising the transfer of new/modified assets in collaboration with the operation team
ensuring that all the updated as-built documentation and necessaries technical data are disponible and archived
p- Manage maintenance contractors in BNL
q- Participate SV on operations, maintenance as per FR/BNL annual plan
Educational background
- Mechanical Engineer school or equivalent and 5 years experiences minimum.
- Technical background
- Management background
- French (C1 minimum) , English speaking (B2)
- Dutch (B2) is nice to have.
Experience

- Process industries background (chemical, oil & gas industry, energy)
Skills:
- Analytical thinking
- Mastery of reading PID & PFD
- Excellent knowledge of IT tools as : MS Project, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) & AutoCAD
- Knowledge in automation, electricity & instrumentation
- Strong aptitude for team collaboration and working with other departments
- Strong skills in contractor management, negotiation of claims or amendments, planning, risk management, financial control, management of multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
