Project or Senior Environmental Practitioner

We continue to grow in Europe with numerous new hires and are now looking for Project or Senior Environmental Practitioners to join our dynamic and growing team in Helsinki, Finland. 

  

Specifically, we are looking for specialists with significant experience in EHS and ESG Due Diligence, environmental permitting and compliance as well as environmental and social impact assessments for the industrial and energy sectors and/or experience in climate risk assessments, GHG calculations, circular economy and decarbonization of industry. Our new colleagues will also have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary network of experts in our offices in Europe, North America, Middle East and Australia. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Project management, incl. budget management, multinational team management, and stakeholder communication; 

• Project planning, reporting and delivery in a timely manner and high quality; 

• Expertise in working with multiple projects simultaneously; 

• Participating in and presenting results in meetings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders; 

• Participating in sales meetings and development of environmental offerings; 

• Collaboration with multinational project team. 

Education and Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, biology, environmental science, geology or a related field of study (required) 

• Advanced degree in the same. (preferred) 

• Professional certification or membership to professional bodies (desirable) 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) 

• Detailed understanding of Finnish and EU energy, industrial and environmental regulations. (required) 

• Experience working in the renewable energy sector and other industrial sectors. (desirable) 

• Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required) 

• Demonstrated success in the development and management of client relationships. (desirable) 

• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required) 

• Valid Finnish driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) 

• This position requires the ability to collaborate and communicate both internally and externally, so bilingual proficiency in Finnish and English is valuable.
