Production Supervisor (Midnight Shift)

Prime Management Group is partnering with our preferred client to recruit a Production Supervisorfor its new midnight shift in its manufacturing organization, in Ingersoll, Ontario.

This is an opportunity to help launch operations in a highly automated manufacturing facility and shape how a new shift works from the start. You will lead employees on the production floor, establish effective daily routines, and drive results in safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

The opportunity

• Help launch a new midnight shift and build an effective production team.
• Work with automated manufacturing equipment in a steel processing environment.
• Put your leadership and improvement ideas into practice as operations ramp up.
• Earn an annual salary of $90,000–$98,000.

What you’ll do

• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule production employees to meet output and quality targets.
• Lead daily production meetings, communicating priorities, performance results, and safety concerns.
• Train and coach employees on production methods, equipment, policies, and safe work practices.
• Promote a safe workplace by identifying hazards, addressing concerns, and maintaining housekeeping and equipment readiness standards.
• Work closely with maintenance to resolve equipment issues, document downtime, and minimize production interruptions.
• Ensure daily process audits are completed and address quality issues to meet customer requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve efficiency, and identify cost savings.
• Provide fair, consistent performance feedback and work with management and Human Resources to address employee concerns.
• Maintain accurate attendance, payroll inputs, training records, and daily and monthly production reports.
• Support production changes, new projects, and cost management within your area.

What you bring

• Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to set clear expectations, coach employees, and hold teams accountable.
• Practical knowledge of production processes, equipment, scheduling, and quality requirements.
• Experience leading shop-floor Kaizen activities and familiarity with 5S and World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
• Knowledge of Ontario occupational health and safety requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and confidence maintaining accurate production records.
• Supervisory or management training and/or directly related experience.
• Availability to work the midnight shift and significant overtime during launch and ramp-up.

Experience with greenfield launches, plant expansions, manufacturing automation, or steel processing would be a strong asset. Familiarity with IATF 16949 and environmental management systems would also be valuable.
