This role is tasked with the overall responsibility for the test effort's success. The role involves quality and test advocacy, resource planning and management, and resolution of issues that impede the test effort.

Single point of contact for testing for the project
Coordinates with the project team (QA/Project Management, Bas, Technology and QA Directors) to ensure the Master test Plan is created, reviewed and signed off
Ensure traceability of all testing deliverables to business requirements
Manage test lead's and tester's work throughout testing life cycle to ensure timely completion of all testing deliverables
Ensuring the appropriate planning and management of the test resources
Assessing the progress and effectiveness of the test effort
Develop/maintain testing process training materials and ensure that the team follows the testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodology as specified in the test strategy document. 
Establish and facilitate communication between QA Team, Project Team and appropriate support teams
Weekly status updates and reporting
Prioritize impacts and facilitate viable workarounds
Provide regular status of progress, as well as issues and appropriate escalation requests to Stakeholders (Development Manager, QA Directors and Business Managers)
Provide ongoing coaching and support for new test resources joining the test or as needed
Advocating the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important Defects
Advocating an appropriate level of testability focus in the software development process
Organize various scrum and status update meetings
Build a testing team of professionals with appropriate skills, attitudes and motivation.
Identify Training requirements
Assign task to all Testing Team members and ensure that all of them have sufficient work in the project
Ensure content and structure of all Testing documents / artifacts is documented and maintained
Be a strong leader for the team to look up to and follow. Be instrumental to conduct performance reviews.
Skills:-
The appropriate skills and knowledge for the Test Manager role include:
10 +years of overall testing experience across multiple platforms and applications which includes proven experience of leading test teams for a minimum of 5 years.
Must have hands on working experience in manual /automation testing and usage of different test management tools, Testing techniques, Estimation, Design Test solutions.
Expertise in any two major stream of testing (Functional Automation, Security, process definition or Performance)
Should have led projects on Manual testing and Automation/Performance testing
Ability to lead a team of 15+ engineers
Ability to think on their feet and lead by example.  This will be a hand on Lead position with the flexibility to take on new responsibilities when asked to do so
Knowledge of all aspects of the software engineering process
People skills, especially diplomacy and advocacy skills
Planning and management skills
Should have strong experience on Agile, Kanban etc.  processes
Should have knowledge on any of the Scripting languages
Able to mentor the team on Technical aspects
Strong experience in preparing project status reports
Excellent Communication skills
