Description
The Food and Beverage Manager coordinates food service activities of the Fireside Grill at Ballantrae Golf Club.This list is not intended to be all-inclusive nor exclusive but is intended to provide examples of typical duties performed.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Education/Experience:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software and Inventory software.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises part-time and full-time employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moderate to extreme heat while operating the grill. May cook and serve beverages outside during special events in various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
- Maintains compliance with all hygiene requirements for food service.
- Responsible for cooking food, maintaining inventory, opening and closing grill.
- Provides food and beverage services for scheduled events.
- Prepares menus and food for daily and evening functions.
- Plans and orders all food and beverage inventory.
- Estimates food and beverage costs and requisitions or purchases supplies.
- Reviews financial transactions. Prepares and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations.
- Manages, trains, and supervises staff.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with others.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required plus five years related experience and/or training.
- Experience in the food industry and supervising other employees is required.
- Must be 21 years old or older.
- Serve Safe Certification required.
- Valid Alabama Driver's License required.
