Job Description Summary

The Configured Systems Global Purchasing Leader is responsible for overall coordination of operational sourcing execution, initiatives, and processes for configured systems purchasing across MSD, HRSG, and BoP scopes, spanning regions and projects, in close partnership with Commodity teams, Engineering, Planning, ITO, Projects, Fulfilment, and the broader Sourcing community. Primary responsibilities include leading key operations and daily management across the requisition release-to-PO placement lifecycle, ensuring strong front-end performance and clean handoff to downstream Fulfilment teams.

Related responsibilities include supporting global configured systems sourcing performance, with direct accountability for configured systems on-time PO placement (OTPO) and responsibility for driving visibility, prioritisation, escalation, and recovery of critical business-impacting lines. The role operates within a highly matrixed environment, partnering closely with sourcing leaders and cross-functional teams who share accountability for PO execution, while driving identification and closure of performance and process gaps through Lean daily management, standard work, structured problem solving, and continuous improvement.

The role directly manages configured Systems Purchasing TCoE team and provides regional operational leadership across the broader HDNU TCoE scope.

The role also plays a key part in the continued evolution of the Projects Sourcing operating model, supporting strategic initiatives and the development of future digital, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities that strengthen operational performance and scalability.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the Configured Systems Global Buy House across MSD, HRSG, and BoP, accountable for front-end purchasing execution across projects and regions.

  • Manage a global TCoE team of approximately 30 Buyers, supporting execution of 25k+ POs annually across MSD, HRSG, and BoP scopes.

  • Lead Projects Sourcing operating mechanisms and strong coordination with partner functions (Engineering, Planning, ITO, Projects, Commodity teams, Fulfilment) to drive configured systems on-time PO placement (OTPO), minimising KPI leakage, LD exposure, and margin erosion.

  • Drive clear alignment of critical business-impacting risks and recovery actions across the business, up to and including senior leadership.

  • Champion Lean culture through daily management, standard work, structured problem solving, process improvement, and simplification.

  • Own the sustainment and continued evolution of key operational dashboards, digital reporting capabilities, leading KPIs, and analytics to drive SQDC outcomes for Projects Sourcing.

  • Be a key SME and driver in the evolution of the Sourcing organisation’s digital, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities, developing increasing subject-matter expertise to support next-level future operational execution.

  • Support broader Projects Sourcing operational priorities, operating model development, and strategic initiatives as business needs evolve.

  • Partner with the CoE Leader to provide regional operational leadership to the TCoE organisation, driving deployment of core operational and strategic initiatives aligned to business priorities, standards, performance management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in any of the following areas: Sourcing, Commercial Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, or Operations within the Power Generation and/or Oil & Gas industries.

  • Previous experience in Sourcing & Supply Chain within the Power Generation and/or Oil & Gas industries.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
