Construction & Project Development Operations Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end construction and project development lifecycle from initial planning and design to final handover.
- Oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously, maintaining strict control over delivery timelines and cost efficiency.
- Provide high-level strategic direction on construction methodologies, project planning, design development, and site execution.
- Review and approve project designs, specifications, quantity surveying, cost estimates, contracts, and variation orders.
- Direct the selection, negotiation, management, and performance evaluation of contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, risk registers, key milestones, and rigorous quality standards across all sites.
- Work alongside senior management, internal project teams, and external partners to resolve complex technical and operational issues.
- Present financial performance, status updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations directly to executive management.
- Ensure absolute compliance with regulatory requirements, engineering codes, site safety standards, and corporate policies.
- Drive continuous process improvements across construction workflows, cost control mechanisms, and delivery systems.
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing construction and project management team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional engineering license is highly preferred.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in construction and project management, with significant time spent in senior leadership.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple large-scale property developments simultaneously (e.g., commercial, mixed-use, residential high-rise).
- Deep technical background in construction management, design coordination, quantity surveying, cost control, and contract administration.
- Extensive experience negotiating with and managing major contractors, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Strong financial acumen regarding project budgets, procurement strategy, and the commercial drivers of property development.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, executive presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate competing priorities and manage risk in a fast-paced environment.
