Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Furniture Installation & Facilities Technician to join our team! In this role, you will provide hands-on furniture installation and repair support while managing inventory, coordinating warranty activities, and completing work orders for SIOI projects at the SIOB office. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems, working with customers and project teams, and supporting mission-critical operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
Disassemble, assemble, install, relocate, and repair modular, systems, and freestanding furniture.
Manage warehouse inventory, including modular furniture, freestanding furniture, art and branding items, chairs, and repair parts.
Develop, update, and maintain accurate furniture inventory records in ARCHIBUS.
Conduct semi-annual inventory audits and provide SIOI leadership with monthly inventory status updates and restock recommendations.
Track furniture warranties and coordinate warranty repairs, communications, scheduling, and follow-up activities.
Install and relocate furniture in support of small SIOI projects.
Sponsor and escort furniture repair technicians and exterior furniture installers supporting major SIOI projects.
Process and complete furniture work orders within five business days of receipt from the Workforce Support Center.
Perform work-order activities such as relocating systems and freestanding furniture, replacing monitor support arms, relocating file cabinets, and assembling furniture.
Coordinate work-order completion with the Workforce Support Center and document detailed technician notes describing the work performed.
For work orders that cannot be completed within five business days, coordinate revised estimated completion dates with SIOI and customers, and track the work orders through completion.
Safely operate powered and manual lifts in accordance with NGA safety policies and applicable industry standards.
Required Clearance:
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
High School Diploma and 6+ years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience disassembling, assembling, installing, relocating, and repairing furniture and systems furniture.
Experience managing and tracking furniture warehouse inventory.
Ability to coordinate furniture repairs, warranty activities, technicians, installers, customers, and leadership.
Ability to complete and accurately document furniture work orders within established timelines.
Demonstrated experience operating manual and powered lifts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including developing spreadsheets, consolidating information from multiple offices, and entering, editing, and updating data.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Workforce Support Center, SIOI leadership, customers, and project personnel.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple work orders and priorities.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Certified Price Modern furniture installer certification.
Other furniture-related certifications, such as Knoll, Steelcase, or Encore/Arcadia.
Demonstrated experience interpreting construction drawings related to carpentry and furniture installation.
Demonstrated ability to manage and track furniture inventory in an integrated workplace management system, such as ARCHIBUS.
Experience supporting furniture installation, relocation, repair, or facilities-management projects in a government or secure-site environment.
