Role Purpose
The Finance & Reporting Manager will support the CFO in building and managing Paytm Europe's core finance function, with responsibility for financial accounting, statutory and regulatory reporting, tax, treasury, and management information. This is a hands-on role requiring strong ownership and the ability to operate effectively in a lean, regulated, and fast-growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
-Manage the end-to-end accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations
-Review accounting entries and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the Company's financial records
-Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion
-Prepare and review financial statements under Lux GAAP and support Group reporting under IFRS, where applicable
-Oversee the work of the external fiduciaire and other accounting service providers, including preparation of statutory accounts and supporting schedules
Regulatory Reporting & Financial Controls
-Coordinate Finance-owned regulatory and prudential reporting to the CSSF and other relevant authorities, including own-funds and applicable financial returns
-Support the Finance aspects of safeguarding and related reporting and controls concerning client funds, working closely with the Payments Finance & Reconciliation Manager and relevant control functions
-Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, controls, and procedures appropriate to a regulated Payment Institution
-Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, approval authorities, and financial controls are embedded across Finance processes
-Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Internal Controls, and other functions to ensure Finance meets its regulatory responsibilities
Audit
-Act as the principal Finance point of contact for external auditors and coordinate the annual statutory audit
-Prepare and maintain audit files, supporting schedules, and other financial evidence required for audit and assurance activities
-Coordinate Finance support for internal audit reviews and ensure agreed Finance-related remediation actions are implemented
Tax
-Manage corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other applicable Luxembourg tax obligations, working with external tax advisers as required
-Ensure tax filings and related payments are accurate and completed within required deadlines
-Monitor relevant changes in Luxembourg tax and regulatory requirements and assess their financial implications for the Company
Banking, Treasury & Liquidity
-Manage day-to-day banking relationships and Finance activities relating to the Company's bank accounts
-Monitor cash positions and maintain cash-flow and liquidity forecasts to ensure appropriate funding of the business
-Support the CFO in treasury, funding, and liquidity management decisions
-Maintain appropriate controls over the Company's own funds and banking activities
Budgeting, Forecasting & Management Information
-Lead the preparation and ongoing management of budgets, forecasts, and financial models
-Prepare monthly management information and financial reporting for the CFO, senior management, and Board
-Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, providing clear variance analysis and commentary
-Develop financial analysis and insights to support commercial and strategic decision-making
-Support the CFO in monitoring the Company's financial performance, cost base, and overall financial plan
Finance Processes, Systems & Business Support
-Establish and document scalable Finance processes, controls, and SOPs appropriate to the Company's stage of development and growth
-Identify and implement opportunities to automate and improve accounting, reporting, and other Finance operations
-Support the selection, implementation, and ongoing development of accounting, ERP, and other Finance-related systems
-Provide Finance input into new products, commercial initiatives, system implementations, and other cross-functional projects
-Work collaboratively across the business and with Group Finance to ensure the Finance function supports the Company's growth while maintaining appropriate financial discipline and control
