Description
We are the people who give possibilities purpose
BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.
Job Description
Join a growing regional technical support team supporting BD COR molecular diagnostic systems across the Nordics and wider EMEA region. This role has been created as part of the transition to a customer-focused regional support model, bringing advanced technical expertise closer to the field and helping customers maximize instrument performance and uptime.
As a senior technical expert, you will act as the escalation point for complex instrument, software, and connectivity issues that cannot be resolved by local service teams. You will combine advanced troubleshooting, technical training, service readiness support, and continuous improvement activities to strengthen regional capability and deliver an excellent customer experience.
This is a field-based role with significant travel across the Nordics and wider EMEA region. Regular travel includes overnight stays and visits to customer sites for installations, technical escalations, training delivery, and service readiness activities. We are particularly interested in candidates based in Sweden or Denmark who are located close to a major international airport and can travel efficiently throughout the region to support customers and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical escalation expert for complex BD COR instrument, software, workflow, and connectivity challenges.
- Diagnose and resolve advanced technical issues remotely and onsite to support high instrument availability and customer continuity.
- Deliver technical training and coaching to Field Service Engineers, technical specialists, and support teams across EMEA.
- Build regional technical capability by sharing knowledge, best practices, and troubleshooting expertise with local service teams.
- Support new product introductions, software updates, upgrades, validation activities, and service readiness programs.
- Analyze performance trends, recurring issues, and escalation drivers to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with remote support and field-based teams to ensure effective issue resolution, parts readiness, and service execution.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, service records, and compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience in electronics, automation, electromechanics, software, physics, or a related technical field.
- Experience supporting complex diagnostic instruments, laboratory automation systems, or other sophisticated electromechanical platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently investigate and implement software or hardware solutions.
- Knowledge of PC hardware, networking, laboratory information systems, middleware, databases, connectivity, and integrated workflows.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly through training, presentations, and customer interactions.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the Nordics, Western Europe, and EMEA, including regular overnight stays.
