Sales Representative
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Sales Representative to drive new business growth and maintain strong relationships with existing clients within the public utility sector, with a particular focus on district and local municipalities. The successful candidate will proactively identify and develop new business opportunities, build and maintain strong client relationships, present customised solutions, close sales, and facilitate client onboarding in collaboration with the internal team.
Responsibilities & Skills:
- Promote the company’s products and services.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to completion.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the public utility sector.
- Conduct prospecting, cold calling, networking, and lead generation activities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction throughout the sales and onboarding process.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate scoping and effective delivery of solutions.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategies.
- Provide feedback on product offerings and market gaps to support innovation and product development.
- Maintain accurate sales records, CRM data, pipeline forecasts, and activity reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification or degree in Sales, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven sales experience within the public sector.
- Strong ability to manage and influence customer expectations.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
