Join Shimano in the role of Facilities-Fishing Pond, where you will be working closely with internal stakeholders across Shimano, while ensuring operational excellence of the fishing pond for events.

The Challenge

At the Shimano Experience Center in Valkenburg, we are passionate about creating outstanding experiences for anglers through our shared love for fishing and high-quality products. In the role of Facilities - Fishing Pond, you will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the fishing pond and surrounding facilities. Your role combines hands-on operational work with stakeholder communication and coordination.

You will: 

• Ensure the fishing pond and surrounding facilities are well-maintained

• Welcome visitors at the Shimano Experience Center

• Coordinate and support fishing events, demonstrations and product testing activities

• Manage inventory and ensure equipment and materials are available when needed

• Coordinate maintenance activities and manage external contractors where required

• Work closely with colleagues across Shimano

•  Identify opportunities to improve the fishing pond operations

During the high season (April – October), your focus will be strongly operational and visitor-oriented, ensuring the fishing pond is managed well. In the low season (November – March), there is more opportunity to work on stakeholder communication, planning, process improvements and preparing future events and product testing initiatives.

What are we looking for?

• A passion for fishing and good knowledge of fishing equipment and techniques

• Experience with facility management

• Experience with inventory management

• A hands-on mentality with a proactive approach

• A strong sense of ownership and the ability to take initiative

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across different teams and locations

• Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English

Additional skills we value:

• Experience in pond management or outdoor facility management

• MBO Level 4 with relevant experience, or HBO working and thinking level

• German language skills

• Living within 60 minutes commute of Valkenburg
