Job Summary
The Senior Manager, CPQ Tools Optimization, leads the governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of HP's pricing and CPQ technology ecosystem. This role serves as the key liaison between Global Pricing & Deal Management, regional pricing teams, business stakeholders, and Enterprise Operations to ensure CPQ capabilities are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business priorities. The position drives enhancement prioritization, tool performance, user experience, and cross-functional issue resolution, while maximizing the value of technology investments and enabling efficient, consistent, and business-focused pricing operations worldwide.
Responsibilities
• Own and manage the prioritization process for CPQ and pricing tools enhancements, ensuring alignment with Global Pricing & Deal Management strategy, operational needs, user experience, compliance requirements, and available development capacity.
• Serve as the primary business liaison with Enterprise Operations, IT, product owners, and platform teams to troubleshoot tool issues, escalate critical blockers, and follow up on performance, stability, cybersecurity, and reliability opportunities.
• Define and maintain a structured enhancement backlog, including business justification, expected benefits, priority, geographic scope, persona impact, dependencies, and measurable success criteria.
• Partner with regional pricing operations, bid desk, category, sales operations, and transformation teams to capture pain points, validate business requirements, and convert them into actionable user stories and enhancement proposals.
• Lead recurring governance forums to review tool performance, open issues, change requests, release priorities, risks, dependencies, and decision points with key stakeholders.
• Monitor and improve end-to-end CPQ and pricing tool performance by identifying root causes, recurring defects, process gaps, data issues, and user experience friction points.
• Ensure enhancement priorities balance strategic transformation, operational efficiency, partner/customer experience, compliance controls, automation, and AI-readiness.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, release readiness, change management, communications, and post-release validation for prioritized tool enhancements.
• Develop and track operational metrics, dashboards, and scorecards related to tool adoption, turnaround time, ticket volumes, issue resolution, backlog aging, release delivery, and business impact.
• Provide functional guidance, training support, and escalation management to regional tools optimization teams and key business users.
• Promote standardization and governance across pricing tool processes to reduce regional variation, improve compliance, and increase scalability.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual work, simplify approval workflows, improve data quality, and strengthen the overall Lead-to-Quote experience.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Typically has 10+ years of experience in pricing operations, CPQ tools, commercial organization, operations, business process optimization, product ownership, or technology-enabled transformation.
• Experience working with global or regional pricing teams, Enterprise Operations, IT, or platform/product teams to resolve tool issues and deliver scalable enhancements.
