The University of Miami Health System (“UHealth”) Facilities Operations & Planning Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sr. Painter.
The Senior Painter applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and structures throughout the facilities. Further, the Senior Painter takes on the more complicated and detailed tasks and mentors junior staff.
Core Responsibilities:
Prepares surfaces for painting and fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with fillers.
Selects premixed paints or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint to match specified colors.
Provides rough estimates for man-hours and material requirements to appropriate managing staff.
Tapes, floats, and textures walls and ceilings.
Erects scaffolding or sets up ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
Picks up and delivers painting supplies to campuses, and maintains delivery records.
Detects needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment by following established inspection procedures.
Maintains inventory of tools and assists with inventory control of materials and equipment.
Inspects jobs upon completion and ensures areas are clean.
Oversees contract painters.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
