Workday Senior HRIS Analyst – Time Tracking & Absence

Mueller is seeking a Workday Senior HRIS Analyst – Time Tracking & Absence to serve as a subject matter expert for Workday Time Tracking, Absence Management, and Scheduling. This role will partner closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to design, configure, implement, and continuously improve Workday solutions that support our workforce and business operations.

As Mueller expands its Workday capabilities, this role will be an integral part of the implementation and buildout of Workday Time Tracking, Absence Management, and Scheduling. The Senior HRIS Analyst will help translate complex business requirements into scalable Workday solutions and support the organization through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.

The ideal candidate combines strong Workday functional expertise with a consultative and continuous-improvement mindset. Experience implementing Workday Time Tracking and/or Absence is highly valued, particularly within a complex manufacturing environment supporting hourly and union workforces.

This position reports to the Director, IT Enterprise Applications and is located at Mueller’s Corporate Office in the Atlanta/Sandy Springs, Georgia area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary Workday subject matter expert for Time Tracking, Absence Management, and Scheduling, providing functional support and guidance to HR, Payroll, managers, and end users.
  • Play an integral role in the implementation and buildout of Workday Time Tracking, Absence Management, and Scheduling, helping design scalable solutions that support Mueller’s operational needs.
  • Configure, maintain, and enhance Workday functionality to support business requirements, improve processes, and deliver an effective user experience.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, evaluate solutions, and translate business needs into effective Workday configurations, including requirements for hourly and union employee populations.
  • Troubleshoot complex system and process issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to simplify, automate, and optimize Workday processes and functionality.
  • Develop and execute testing for system implementations, enhancements, Workday releases, integrations, and defect resolution.
  • Support Workday integrations, reporting, EIBs, and data management activities while ensuring system and data integrity.
  • Maintain system and process documentation and communicate system changes, project status, risks, challenges, and recommendations to HRIS leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure Workday processes and configurations align with company policies, internal controls, collective bargaining requirements, and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • Five or more years of HRIS, Workday, or related enterprise systems experience.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Workday, including system configuration, business processes, reporting, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Workday Time Tracking and/or Absence Management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex issues and identify root causes.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional system solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, high-quality data and system configurations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday implementation experience, particularly implementing or significantly expanding Workday Time Tracking, Absence Management, and/or Scheduling.
  • Advanced experience with Workday Time Tracking, Absence Management, and Scheduling in a complex organization.
  • Experience supporting Workday in a manufacturing, hourly workforce, union, or multi-site environment.
  • Experience configuring or supporting complex timekeeping requirements, including union rules, collective bargaining agreements, work schedules, shifts, overtime rules, premiums, time calculations, attendance, and time-entry processes.
  • Experience partnering closely with Payroll on time and absence processes.
  • Experience with additional Workday modules, including Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Reporting, and/or Compensation.
  • Experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields, EIBs, integrations, and mass data management.
  • Experience supporting Workday releases, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and system enhancements.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on and versatile Workday professional who enjoys solving complex business problems and improving how technology supports employees, managers, HR, and Payroll.

They bring strong expertise in Workday Time Tracking and Absence and understand the complexities of supporting a manufacturing and operational workforce, including hourly and union employees, multiple locations, schedules, shifts, overtime requirements, and varying work rules.

Ideally, this individual has experience participating in a Workday implementation or significant module deployment and is energized by the opportunity to help build and shape a solution rather than simply maintain an established configuration.

This individual is a self-starter who takes ownership of their work, asks thoughtful questions, and can move comfortably between detailed system configuration and broader business conversations. They are skilled at translating complex business requirements into practical Workday solutions and are proactive in identifying opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen data integrity, improve the user experience, and better leverage Workday capabilities.

Most importantly, they are an effective partner who communicates clearly, raises risks and opportunities early, and works collaboratively with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet both immediate operational needs and Mueller’s long-term HR technology strategy.
