Hiring Range
$50,900.00 - $70,025.00/Annual Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
Under the direction of Risk Management Leadership this role performs independent assessment of financial processes. Serves as a critical resource in the medical malpractice discovery process, anticipating in the development, education and maintenance of Risk Management program. Compiles, analyzes and evaluates data using investigative, statistical methods, benchmark data or other comparative measures. Audits and processes incoming defense invoices and settlements. Must use independent judgement in reviewing and assessing incoming data to ensure accurate payment.
What you will do
- RHS MedInsur, Ltd. - manage international wire transfers and maintain accurate records detailing financial transactions with retained counsel and experts; use electronic resources to maximize productivity in financial record keeping
- Collect critical insurance supporting documentation for the annual insurance renewal process. Use knowledge and independent judgement to determine the appropriate data.
- Independently manage the Origami Risk Management platform with emphasis on building and maintaining the current status of PLGL claims
- Collaborate with internal/external credentialing offices to provide evidence of coverage and claims histories
- Responsible for maintaining the RHS Virginia Birth Injury - Neurological Injury Compensation provider data base. Ensure existing providers are renewed and new providers are added.
- Audit and process incoming defense invoices and settlements. Must use independent judgement in reviewing and assessing incoming data to ensure accurate payment.
- Serve as a critical resource in the medical malpractice discovery process, including but not limited to the production of medical records, incident reports, locating witnesses, and scheduling depositions and various other legal meetings
- Serving as a notary for the organization
- Supporting the addition and/or deletion of drivers from the health system's authorized drivers program
- Communicates with external customers and assists with the resolution of grievances and complaints
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors Degree, Related Field (Required)
Experience
- 2 years Working within an integrated Risk Management Program for a large health system (Required)
- 3-4 years Experience with handling complex legal production requests (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) - American Hospital Association Certification Center within 1 Year (Required)
