Job Category
The Compliance Associate protects the integrity of QuinStreet's digital marketing content across Credit Cards and Banking. This role reviews QuinStreet-owned and operated sites and publisher content, resolves client-reported compliance cases, and ensures all materials meet applicable regulatory standards, including TILA, UDAAP, FTC guidelines, and client-specific requirements.
The Associate works cross-functionally with internal teams and external publisher partners to investigate issues, coordinate remediation, and maintain accurate documentation. Strong candidates bring attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset. They resolve issues as they arise, recognize emerging patterns, and contribute ideas that strengthen compliance workflows over time.
Responsibilities
Case Management and Remediation
- Own the resolution of client-reported compliance cases from intake through closure, ensuring timelines meet both client expectations and QuinStreet service standards (SLAs).
- Partner with internal teams including Publisher and Client Managers, Site Editors, Engineering, and Operations, as well as external publisher partners, to investigate compliance issues, coordinate remediation, and confirm resolution.
- Maintain accurate, thorough case notes, audit documentation, and status updates that support team tracking, escalation decisions, and stakeholder reporting.
Content Review and Compliance Auditing
- Perform compliance reviews across websites, social media posts, ad campaigns, and creative mock-ups, applying financial regulations and client guidelines to assess risk and identify non-compliant content.
- Conduct structured content audits using compliance monitoring systems and industry tools. Validate audit results, identify and remove false positives, and summarize findings in a clear, actionable format for internal stakeholders.
- Apply working knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks including TILA, UDAAP, FTC guidelines, and issuer-specific requirements when evaluating content and documenting findings.
Problem Identification and Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring compliance issues, emerging content trends, and systemic gaps in publisher adherence. Bring observations forward with supporting context and suggested next steps rather than simply flagging the issue.
- Identify issues with compliance tools (BrandVerity, Performline, Screaming Frog, etc.) and proactively report concerns to the appropriate support team for an immediate fix.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of compliance workflows, standard operating procedures, and reference materials by sharing practical insights gained through day-to-day case work and auditing.
- Escalate complex or ambiguous issues to the appropriate Compliance Manager with a clear summary of the issue, relevant findings, and a recommended course of action.
What Strong Performance Looks Like
A high-performing Compliance Associate goes beyond auditing content and submitting findings. Strong performance looks like:
- Developing a working understanding of the regulatory landscape
- Recognizing unusual content, even before it has been flagged
- Bringing suggestions for continued improvement
- Communicating findings clearly and on time, whether escalating an issue, flagging a risk, or closing the loop on remediation
- Keeping documentation tight and meeting deadlines consistently
- Treating every content review as an opportunity to protect QuinStreet brands, clients, our publisher network, and the end consumer
Over time, strong Associates build the institutional knowledge and regulatory fluency that positions them for growth within the Compliance Team.
