Description
Primary Functions: The Financial Analyst serves as a key member of the corporate finance team, providing financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling support that informs strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. This role partners closely with the Director of Finance and CFO to deliver timely, accurate insights on company performance, supporting budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial modeling initiatives. The Financial Analyst plays an integral role in translating complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations that guide business strategy, while providing additional support to leadership as priorities and needs arise.
Education: Bachelor's degree (accounting, finance or business)
Qualifications:
- Detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, professional, and customer service focused.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-directed individual who will have a strong ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize projects with deadlines.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate data into clear projections and recommendations.
- Have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint, and Power Query. Knowledge in MRI, Yardi and RealPage is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance is preferred. Experience in the real estate industry a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare cash flow projections offering forward-looking visibility through year-end.
- Calculate and coordinate monthly and quarterly owner distributions.
- Complete a mid-year financial review and forecast and present findings. Review / presentation will include the following information:
- Updated full-year forecast
- Recommendations for improvement
- Responsible for coordinating all financial documents for year-end tax preparation.
- Assist and complete monthly financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and areas requiring attention.
- Perform cost analysis across the portfolio and identify opportunities to consolidate vendors or services under a single contract to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Build financial models to assess future cost and staffing needs, supporting budgeting and long-range planning.
- Work with Corporate Accountants to complete the annual budget.
- All other tasks and duties assigned, with dates to be agreed upon.
