Description
Growing businesses need great people, and great people need leadership, systems and support to thrive.
Armer Group is one of New Zealand's larger privately owned dairy farming businesses, milking approximately 20,000 cows across 24 farms and operating a substantial support platform across the North Island. Family owned and driven by a practical approach, the business continues to evolve while remaining firmly focused on long term sustainability, profitability and doing the basics exceptionally well.
A newly created Human Resources Manager role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the people function across the Group and help shape the systems, capability and culture required for future success.
This isn't a corporate HR role hidden behind policy manuals and process documents. Working directly alongside the CEO and leadership team, you'll be the person connecting business strategy with people outcomes. One moment you could be improving or navigating an HR process, the next coaching a high performing farm operator.
Like many successful businesses, Armer Group values practical people who can move comfortably between strategy and implementation. Success in this role will come from your ability to build trust, solve problems, influence outcomes and create systems that genuinely help people perform at their best.
You may already be an experienced HR Manager looking for a role with greater breadth and influence. Equally, you could be a senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner ready to step into a position where you'll help shape the future of the people function within a substantial and growing business. This is a role where you'll have the opportunity to contribute to both the design and execution of people initiatives, building systems, processes and capability while remaining closely connected to the operational realities of the business.
What will be immediately obvious when talking with you is:
- You genuinely enjoy working with people and helping achieve results through others.
- Employment relations and compliance don't intimidate you because you've been there before and understand how to navigate this pragmatically.
- You can balance commercial realities with good people practice.
- You're organised, detail focused and capable of managing competing priorities.
- You're prepared to have difficult conversations when required and equally comfortable building relationships and trust.
- You bring humility, good judgement and an authentic style.
You don't need to arrive with the full HR toolkit or a long career in agriculture. What matters most is your ability to work alongside capable people, understand what makes businesses and teams successful, and provide pragmatic advice.
Based full-time in Mount Maunganui, you'll work closely with the CEO and leadership team while maintaining a strong connection to the operation itself. Regular travel across the Bay of Plenty, Central Plateau and King Country farming businesses is an expected part of the role, and a company vehicle will be provided.
