Lead AI Solutions Consultant
Job Description Summary
The Lead AI Solutions Consultant is part of the AI Team within Process Transformation and Automation (PTA) and serves as a business-aligned consulting lead for AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and Generative AI initiatives. The role partners with the Discovery team, Business Technology Analysts, business lines, technology delivery teams, data teams, risk partners, vendors, and platform teams to understand use cases, assess feasibility, shape solution direction, and translate business needs into practical AI solution recommendations while maintaining clear separation from technology delivery ownership.
This role requires strong AI solution advisory experience, business enablement capabilities, and working knowledge of enterprise governance, risk, privacy, security, and responsible AI expectations.
Job Description
- Develop high-level AI solution frameworks that align business processes, AI capabilities, data considerations, control expectations, and technology dependencies to support business strategies.
- Provide AI solution consulting guidance for AI, ML, NLP, and Generative AI initiatives, including solution shaping, feasibility assessment, implementation considerations, and approved prototyping or solution validation support where appropriate.
- Partner with business, technology, data, risk, compliance, information security, operations, platform, vendor, and COE teams to translate business objectives into clear AI solution recommendations and decision guidance.
- Map key dependencies, risks, constraints, and integration considerations across business processes, applications, data flows, AI models, platforms, security controls, and supporting technology environments.
- Evaluate solution alternatives for business fit, scalability, integration complexity, cost, supportability, control requirements, and long-term operational impact.
- Create solution documentation, assumptions, decision guidance, and implementation considerations that enable technology teams to execute with clarity while preserving delivery ownership within technology.
- Support responsible AI, model governance, risk management, auditability, privacy, security, and regulatory expectations throughout the solution lifecycle in partnership with accountable technology and risk owners.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Eight or more years of related experience in AI solution consulting, AI/ML solution design, business technology enablement, enterprise AI delivery, data platforms, cloud-based AI services, or complex cross-functional technology initiatives.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of AI/ML, NLP, Generative AI, large language model-based solution patterns, data considerations, and cloud-based AI services.
- Experience advising on enterprise AI or GenAI solutions in partnership with business, technology, data, risk, vendor, and platform teams.
- Ability to assess solution tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, implementation impacts, and operational considerations across complex enterprise environments.
- Strong communication, consulting, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear solution recommendations and executive-ready decision guidance.
- Working knowledge of responsible AI, model governance, privacy, security, compliance, auditability, and control expectations within regulated environments.
- Knowledge of banking operations, financial services processes, enterprise operating models, architecture concepts, and delivery frameworks.
- Experience developing reusable AI solution patterns, implementation considerations, and AI enablement practices.
- AI, cloud, architecture, data, security, Microsoft Azure, AWS, TOGAF, SAFe, or related advisory certifications preferred.
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
