In the Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of patients in numerous units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. This position is fast-paced and constantly changing, so adaptability and flexibility are important. Still, you will find a solid, united culture, where caregivers continuously encourage each other to be their best and provide unparallel patient care. A caregiver in this position works days from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care. 

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.  

• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.  
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 
• Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)   

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting or Military RN License

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
