About Atlassian
At Atlassian, we're motivated by a common goal: to unleash the potential of every team. Our software products help teams all over the planet, and our solutions are designed for all types of work. Team collaboration through our tools makes what may be impossible alone, possible together. With our AI solution Rovo now at the center of our platform, we can help the world’s most innovative teams solve more complex problems, ship faster, and make the impossible, possible.
As we navigate the complexity and scale of our transformation, we’re investing in the next generation of talent to shape what comes next.

Your Internship Program
Atlassian’s Intern programs combine hands-on technical training, professional growth, dedicated mentorship, and strong social connections. To make the most of this high-impact experience, all interns are required to relocate to and be based in Atlassian India’s designated hub, i.e. Bengaluru, for the entire duration of the internship. Being together in person helps you immerse yourself in onboarding, maximise learning, collaborate closely, build meaningful relationships, and experience Atlassian’s culture in action.
Your Future Team
The Product Security team at Atlassian exists to engineer security into every product so entire classes of risk are prevented by design, not patched after the fact. We operate at the intersection of security engineering, cloud infrastructure, and AI, building the systems that make secure the fastest way to ship.
ProdSec India is a team of security engineers, architects, and builders working across AI-native security automation, cloud and supply chain governance, and strategic product security partnerships. We don't just find problems. We build systems that prevent them at scale.
What you'll be part of: a team that is replacing manual, point-in-time security reviews with continuous, AI-powered assessment systems. A team that governs Atlassian's entire software supply chain end-to-end. A team that is systematically shrinking the exploitable attack surface of a platform serving 300,000+ customers.
We work in short execution loops, value experimentation over long planning cycles, and operate with a builder mindset. As an intern, you will work alongside engineers who have shipped production security automation, discovered live vulnerabilities across Atlassian's cloud, and built the security architecture for agentic AI systems. You'll ship real work that matters.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
As a Security Engineer Intern, you would be responsible for making sure Atlassian products and services are safe and secure. Using your skills and experience in various languages and tech stacks you will discover and fix security vulnerabilities within Atlassian products and services, hone your pen testing and Red Team skills by analysing those, participate in architecture and code reviews, threat modeling, monitor and analyse logs, find threats, create and fine-tune detections and work closely with all the Atlassian engineering groups.
We would love for you to have strong coding skills, but more importantly, you must be forward-thinking, motivated, and passionate about web application security and protecting Atlassian and its customers from cyber threats. You should be comfortable writing code to get things done and not depend on third-party products to do your job.
Qualifications

Familiarity with software supply chain security concepts: dependency management, SBOM, artifact integrity, or package manager security
Participation or achievement in bug bounty programs, responsible disclosure, or published CVEs
