WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US  

Join SimCorp's Regulatory Reporting & Compliance Services organization and play a pivotal role in developing NAIC Reporting solutions for the US insurance market. As a Principal Solution Consultant, you will serve as one of SimCorp's foremost experts in NAIC reporting, US Statutory Accounting, and insurance regulatory compliance. You will drive the strategic evolution of SimCorp's NAIC solution, support product and investment decisions, and partner with clients, regulators, Product Management, and senior stakeholders across SimCorp to ensure our solutions remain the industry benchmark.

This role combines deep industry expertise, product leadership, regulatory insight, and client advisory capabilities. You will act as a trusted advisor for some of the world's largest insurance organizations while helping SimCorp navigate one of the most significant regulatory transformations affecting the insurance industry in decades, including ongoing modernization of NAIC investment reporting, bond reporting classifications, and statutory accounting requirements.  

 

The role offers broad visibility across SimCorp's global organization and provides the opportunity to shape strategic initiatives that directly affect client outcomes, product direction, and market positioning 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR  

 

Strategic Leadership & Solution Ownership  

  • Own and drive the strategic direction of SimCorp's NAIC Reporting solution and related regulatory capabilities.

  • Act as the principal subject matter lead for NAIC Reporting, US Statutory Accounting, Schedule D reporting, investment classifications, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Lead the assessment of emerging regulatory developments and define SimCorp's response strategy, product priorities, and implementation approach.

  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding regulatory trends, market demands, and investment opportunities.

 

Product and Regulatory Innovation  

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, SaaS Delivery, and Client Services to shape the product roadmap and regulatory strategy.

  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into scalable product capabilities and client solutions.

  • Lead impact assessments for new NAIC regulations and statutory accounting changes, identifying business, operational, and technical implications.

  • Drive innovation and best practices across regulatory reporting processes and solution design.

 

Client Advisory & Executive Engagement  

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including Heads of Accounting, Controllers, Regulatory Reporting leaders, and executive sponsors.

  • Lead strategic client workshops, regulatory discussions, and advisory sessions.

  • Guide clients through complex regulatory transformations and reporting initiatives.

  • Support business development activities, strategic sales engagements, and executive-level client presentations.

 

Solution Leadership & Delivery Excellence  

  • Guide the implementation and enhancement of NAIC reporting solutions for North American insurance clients.

  • Ensure solution quality, scalability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

  • Provide leadership in issue resolution, design decisions, and complex client scenarios.

  • Review and optimize business processes, reporting methodologies, and implementation approaches.

 

Community Leadership & Talent Development  

  • Mentor and develop consultants, business consultants, and solution specialists across the organization.

  • Establish best practices, methodologies, and knowledge-sharing frameworks.

  • Support organizational capability growth and staff development initiatives.

  • Represent SimCorp at industry conferences, client forums, user groups, and regulatory discussions.

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Extensive experience within the insurance, investment management, financial software, consulting, or regulatory reporting industry.

  • Deep expertise in NAIC Reporting, US Statutory Accounting, insurance investment accounting, and regulatory reporting processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives across organizational boundaries.

  • Solid understanding of investment instruments, accounting principles, financial data models, and regulatory reporting frameworks.

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale regulatory, accounting, or transformation initiatives.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively from operational teams to executive leadership.

  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities combined with a strategic mindset.

  • Experience operating within complex global organizations and cross-functional environments.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

 

Technical Expertise  

  • Working knowledge of data structures, databases, SQL, and system integrations.

  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into business and product specifications.

  • Experience evaluating impacts across business processes, data models, and software solutions.

 

Other Qualifications  

  • Extensive practical experience with SimCorp Dimension.

  • Advanced knowledge of NAIC reporting requirements, Schedule D reporting, AVR/IMR processes, RBC impacts, investment classifications, and statutory accounting principles.

  • Experience within insurance asset management or insurance investment accounting.

  • Experience shaping product strategy, roadmap decisions, or regulatory solution development.

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) or relevant industry certification.

  • Experience representing an organization in industry forums, regulatory working groups, or client executive committees.

  • Experience leading globally distributed teams and strategic transformation initiatives.
