General Labor-Tomato Sorting (Seasonal)

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking General Labor-Tomato Sorting associates to work in our tomato paste, pizza sauce, salsa, peeled pear canned tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, and tomato sauce production area in Escalon, CA.  Ideal candidates must be safety and quality driven. Candidates must be able to work in a team in a fast paced work environment.  This position requires individuals to perform general production duties during warmer climates in a food manufacturing environment during the months of July through October. 

Benefits & Compensation Overview:

• Sick Pay - available after successful completion of 30 days of employment
• Life insurance available after employee has completed 30 days of employment.
• Starting Pay $20.26
• Union facility-obtain seniority after 30 working days

Work Schedule:

Monday-Sunday during the months of July- October

New employees primarily work 3rd shift due to seniority (10:00PM-6:30AM)

Overtime may be available based on business need

Job Overview:

As a general labor employee you’ll see first hand how our tomatoes go from farm to table. You’ll be a front of the line employee who will contribute to our continuous growth.

Responsibilities & Duties:

May include, but isn’t limited to:

• Responsible for following all factory policies and procedures.
• Responsible for removing undesired or defective fruits, weeds, foreign material from product being produced
• Tomato sorting based on color, maturity, grade, size
• Be on your feet up to 8 hours every day performing repetitive tasks when sorting
• Responsible for keeping work area clean at all times.
• Sweep floor and clean up spills as needed or directed by lead.
• Perform general cleaning throughout work areas.
• Handle packaging material accordingly if required by job task
• Responsible for wearing proper PPE including bump camp, hair net, composite toe shoes in all production areas
• Ability to lift, stack product cases
• Responsible for reporting any Safety or Quality violations
• Responsible for learning multiple jobs based on company need
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Open availability across all three shifts.
• Must be available to work up to 7 days a week during fresh pack season (July-October), including holidays
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours
• Candidates must be willing to work in different departments based on business need
• Adhere to factory GMP’s by following all Safety and Quality regulations
