Description
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care in a friendly environment.
- Assisting the dentist during dental examinations and procedures.
- Handling patient intake and discharge procedures.
- Preparing and sterilizing instruments, maintaining a clean operatory, and ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available before each patient's dental procedure.
- Taking digital radiographs and dental impressions as instructed.
- Managing office scheduling and patient follow-ups.
- Providing patients with information on dental procedures and post-operative care.
- Instructing patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Communicating effectively with patients, our dentist, front desk and other members of the team.
- Going over treatment plans with patients.
Administrative Tasks:
- Scheduling appointments and managing the dental office's appointment calendar.
- Taking, maintaining and updating patient records.
- Ordering and maintaining dental supplies and equipment.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Assisting in emergency situations and following established protocols.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A completion certificate from an accredited dental assistant program.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a sterile environment.
- Familiarity with dental software (Dentrix) and office management systems, though not mandatory, will be a plus.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant will be advantageous but not mandatory.
Professionalism:
- An ability to uphold a high level of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality in all patient interactions.
