Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking Security Guard  in Waterloo, Ontario. 

 

Job Title: Security Guard - Full Time

Job Location: Waterloo, ON

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour 

Shifts : 12 Hours shifts - 10am-9:30pm 

 

Overview:

 

Allied Universal is currently hiring Security Professionals in Waterloo, ON to provide professional, front-line security services. This role is ideal for individuals with strong customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and willing to work with a dynamic team.

 

Physical Requirement: 

 

Must be able to stand and remain on their feet for almost the entire shift while actively monitoring and patrolling the retail store. This position requires prolonged standing and continuous walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities to sit.

 

Additional Requirements:

• Familiarity with access control systems and alarm  .
• Experience with report writing and note-taking.
• Knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Valid First Aid and CPR is mandatory.
• High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience

 

Specific Duties Performed and Essential Functions :

• Monitor customers, employees, and store activities to identify and prevent theft, shoplifting, suspicious behaviour, property damage, and other security concerns.
• Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor, store entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
• Remain alert and attentive at all times, observing customer activities and identifying potential security risks.
• Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, suspicious activities, and customer-related concerns.
• Use effective communication, conflict management, and de-escalation techniques when dealing with difficult situations.
• Maintain a professional, approachable, and customer-friendly attitude while performing security duties.
• Ensure the store's safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other incidents.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately, completing all required security reports.
• Follow site-specific procedures, training, and instructions provided by the Site Supervisor, client representatives, and Account Manager.
• Demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to make appropriate decisions during emergencies or security-related situations.
• Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills and complete all required site training.
