Description
At Telenor Procurement, we're looking for a Category Manager to join our Handsets category team.
The Handsets category is responsible for sourcing and managing smartphones, wearables, accessories, and related device portfolios across the Nordics and Asia. Working closely with business units, commercial teams, and global device manufacturers, the team drives sourcing activities, supplier strategies, commercial negotiations, and value creation that support Telenor's device and customer offering strategy.
This is an opportunity to work in an international environment where technology, commercial strategy, supplier management, and business priorities come together. Role responsibilities will range from building insights and supporting sourcing activities to driving workstreams, owning more complex initiatives, and leading negotiations and category development.
What you'll work on
Contribute to sourcing activities, supplier management, negotiations, and value creation across the Handsets category.
Build supplier, market, and category insights, from analytical support and data preparation to strategic recommendations and category input.
Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers across Telenor's markets, with responsibility for stakeholder dialogue, supplier follow-up, and commercial initiatives.
Support, drive, or lead sourcing projects, contract negotiations, supplier performance reviews, and business cases, from defined workstreams to complex category initiatives.
What we're looking for
Relevant experience in procurement, category management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, commercial management, telecommunications, consumer electronics, devices, analytics, or related fields.
Commercial and analytical capabilities, ranging from structured analysis and problem-solving to independent sourcing leadership, negotiations, and category recommendations.
Ability to collaborate across functions, countries, and stakeholder groups, with stakeholder ownership and communication responsibility.
Interest in device ecosystems, smartphones, wearables, accessories, supplier markets, and commercial strategy. Experience with handset manufacturers, device portfolios, consumer electronics, or telecommunications is an advantage.
Relevant higher education within business administration, economics, finance, engineering, procurement, technology, or a related field. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
Who you are
You are analytical, proactive, and motivated by solving complex challenges. You combine commercial understanding with curiosity for technology and supplier markets. You may be earlier in your career or bring more senior category experience, but you enjoy working with stakeholders, taking ownership at the right level, and turning opportunities into tangible business results.
Why join us?
You will be part of a large, multicultural and competent procurement team.
You will cooperate with key stakeholders in Telenor business units in Nordics and Asia including Telenor Group functions.
Flexible working hours and opportunities to work from home.
A generous health and benefit package with for example wellness grant, health insurance, occupational pension and much more.
Development programs to deepen your knowledge and broaden the competence.
Employee share program.
